Dust alternative for Slack

A Dust alternative you set up by asking

Dust is an agent platform with a web app as its home. Kipwise Agent is already in the thread: connect a tool once when it asks, and it carries on with your question by itself.

7-day trial on install. No card needed.

The same first question, with the setup inside it

Left, two things Dust’s reviewers report. Right, how Kipwise Agent handles a first question that needs a tool.

Sample data

What Dust’s reviewers say about getting started

  1. “The main weakness I noticed with Dust is the lack of an effective onboarding experience for new users.”

    G2, August 2026

With KipwiseThe Home tab says what the agent is and gives four example asks, and a welcome message arrives once. There is no builder to learn.

  2. “When connecting new tools, you successfully log into the other platform, you go back to Dust and it says it failed or something, you refresh the page and then the tool was successfully connected.”

    G2, August 2026

With KipwiseAfter you connect a tool, the agent carries on with your original request by itself. Each person connects their own account, and an admin can switch any service off.

What changes when you switch

Where you work, how you connect, and what you pay.

Where

Slack and Teams first

You mention the agent in a thread and plain replies continue it. In a direct chat no mention is needed. Dust’s home is its web app.

Connect

Once per person, from the thread

The agent offers a private link when a request needs a tool. Everyone uses their own access, so it sees only what they can see.

Price

A seat price you can read

$10 per user a month, at least 3 users, so $30 for a team of three. Dust’s Pro plan is EUR 24 a seat a month on a yearly plan.

Dust vs Kipwise

Both are agents that work across your tools. They differ on home screen, price shape and who approves writes.

What to ask it first

  • @Kipwise where is the Acme deal?

It asks you to connect HubSpot once, then answers from your own access.

  • @Kipwise do we have a doc on travel expense limits?

It searches your Kipwise pages and answers with the source.

  • @Kipwise write this thread up in Customer Success

It drafts the page, shows an Approve card and posts the link.

  • @Kipwise every Monday at 9, post last week’s search clicks here

It asks once when you create it, then posts on schedule.

Questions

Is Kipwise cheaper than Dust AI?

It depends on team size. Dust’s Pro plan is EUR 24 a seat a month on a yearly plan, and it has a free plan with 500 credits. Kipwise is $10 per user a month, at least 3 users. Prices are in different currencies and units, and we have not run the same work on both.

Do we need a web app?

No. You work in the Slack or Teams thread. Kipwise pages, the support desk, the request desk and Tasks are included with the agent, and a web app exists for the knowledge base.

How does it connect to our tools?

Each person connects their own account when a request needs it, through a private link the agent posts. It never uses a shared login, and it carries on with the request once you are connected.

Is there a wider comparison?

Yes: the best AI coworkers for Slack, with prices and when to pick each.

What does it cost?

$10 per user a month, for at least 3 users. That includes $5 of AI credit per person and $2 per person of shared team credit every month. Add it to Slack and the free trial starts on your first message, no card needed.

Can it change things without asking?

No. Before it edits a page, updates a record or posts a message, it shows an Approve or Deny card in the thread. Only the person who asked can approve it, and the card expires after 30 minutes. A denied or expired card runs nothing.

Who can see what?

The agent works as the person asking. It opens only the pages, files and records that person can open, in Kipwise and in every tool they connect.

Does it work in Microsoft Teams?

Yes. The same agent runs in Microsoft Teams, with the same tools, approvals, memory and scheduled tasks.

Ask a question and connect as you go

Add it to Slack, then ask it the question your team asks every week.
