Google Calendar and Gmail in Slack

Google Calendar and Gmail, from the Slack thread

Ask what is on your calendar, book an event, find the email or draft a reply. Kipwise Agent uses your own Google account, and every change or send waits for your Approve.

7-day trial on install. No card needed.

How Google Calendar and Gmail works in Slack

Ask, approve, done.

Ask

In plain words

“What’s on my calendar Thursday?” or “anything from Acme in my inbox?” Mention the agent in a thread, or ask in a direct chat.

Connect

Once, with your own Google login

Gmail and Calendar are separate connections. The agent posts a private link the first time a request needs one.

Approve

Before anything changes

A new event, a moved event or an email shows its details on a card. Only you can press it.

Calendar and inbox

See the day and the mail together

Ask for your day and the unread mail that needs a reply, and the agent lists both, with the sources.

It reads your own primary calendar, with times in your timezone.

Sample data

Gmail

Draft in Gmail, send after you approve

It writes a draft or a reply in your Gmail drafts. Sending shows the recipient, the subject and a preview on an Approve card.

You can also ask it to send later, and to cancel a send that is still waiting.

On schedule

Your agenda in the channel

Ask once for a daily agenda or a Monday summary. You approve the schedule when you create it, and it posts at that time.

Sample data

What to ask it first

  • @Kipwise what's on my calendar Thursday?

It lists your events with times in your timezone.

  • @Kipwise book a 30 minute Roadmap sync Thursday at 14:00 and invite Priya

It shows an Approve card first. Priya is emailed an invitation only because you asked for her.

  • @Kipwise summarise unread mail from Acme

It searches your Gmail and summarises, with the messages it read.

  • @Kipwise move my 3pm to 4pm

It shows an Approve card, then updates the event.

Connecting Google

Once, per person
When a request needs Google, the agent posts a private link. Only the person who asked can complete it, with their own Google login. Nobody shares a token.
What it can reach
Your own primary calendar, and your own Gmail: search and read mail and attachments, drafts and replies, scheduled sends, archive, mark read, star, trash and labels.
Guests
Events have no other attendees unless you explicitly ask it to invite someone. Only then does Google email them an invitation.
Disconnect
Ask the agent to “disconnect my Google”. It deletes the access it stored and revokes it at Google.
Admin control
A workspace admin can switch Google lookups or changes, or a single tool, off.

Questions

How do I use Google Calendar in Slack?

Add the Kipwise Agent to Slack and connect Google once when it asks. Then ask in a thread, for example “what is on my calendar tomorrow?” or “move my 3pm to 4pm”; a change shows an Approve card first.

Is this Slack’s Google Calendar app?

No. It is the Kipwise Agent, a separate Slack app. Add it, then connect Google once when it asks.

Does connecting Gmail connect Drive or Calendar?

No. Each Google service is its own connection, so you choose what the agent can reach.

Can it read other people’s calendars?

It works with your own account only, and sees what you can see.

Can it send an email on its own?

No. A live request shows the recipient, subject and preview on an Approve card and sends after you press it.

What does it cost?

$10 per user a month, for at least 3 users. That includes $5 of AI credit per person and $2 per person of shared team credit every month. Add it to Slack and the free trial starts on your first message, no card needed.

Can it change things without asking?

No. Before it edits a page, updates a record or posts a message, it shows an Approve or Deny card in the thread. Only the person who asked can approve it, and the card expires after 30 minutes. A denied or expired card runs nothing.

Can an admin switch it off?

Yes. A workspace admin can switch a whole service, or a single tool, off, so a listed ability may be off in your workspace.

Does it work in Microsoft Teams?

Yes. The same agent runs in Microsoft Teams, with the same tools, approvals, memory and scheduled tasks.

Ask for it in the thread

Add it to Slack, connect once, and ask.
