Outlook + Kipwise Agent
Connect Outlook to Slack. Search and read messages, manage drafts, and work with events on your own calendar. Nothing is sent without your approval.
How it works
Kipwise Agent is a Slack app. Outlook is connected per person from inside Slack, so the agent only ever uses your own mailbox and calendar. Personal Outlook.com accounts and work or school Microsoft 365 accounts both work.
- Ask the agent about your email or calendar in any channel or DM, for example @Kipwise Agent find the latest email from Acme in Outlook.
- Click “Connect Outlook” in the agent’s reply and sign in with Microsoft. The link is personal to you and expires in five minutes.
- Done. The agent finishes your request straight away. Teammates connect their own Outlook the same way; nobody shares a token.
Work or school accounts
Some organisations only let an administrator approve a new app. If Microsoft shows “Need admin approval” when you connect, ask your Microsoft 365 admin to approve Kipwise Agent. Microsoft has not yet verified Kipwise as a publisher, which is why many organisations ask for that approval. Personal Microsoft accounts connect on their own. Shared mailboxes are not supported.
What you can ask
- Search Outlook messages and read a message, including its text, recipients, attachment list, date, and link.
- List your drafts, create a draft or reply draft (optionally reply-all), update a draft, or delete a draft after you confirm its exact subject.
- Ask Kipwise Agent to send a draft. It is sent only after you approve the Approve/Deny card in Slack, which shows the recipients, subject, and message.
- List events in a date range, create an event on your own calendar, or update an event’s subject, time, or description.
- Delete an event after you confirm its exact subject. Events with other attendees are left alone, so nobody is invited, notified or cancelled on.
Inviting attendees, shared mailboxes, other people’s calendars, and attachment uploads are not supported.
Permissions and data
- The agent asks Microsoft for sign-in, your basic profile, read and write access to your own mail (
Mail.ReadWrite), sending mail as you (Mail.Send) and read and write access to your own calendars (Calendars.ReadWrite), plusoffline_accessso it does not ask you to sign in again for every request. Nothing else. - Nothing is sent without your approval in Slack. The Approve/Deny card shows the recipients, subject, message and attachments.
- Microsoft enforces your own access on every call.
- Access tokens are stored encrypted and used only while answering your request.
