What it does
Kipwise Agent is a Slack app that adds a Xero layer in your threads. Ask in plain words and it works in the organisation you connected:
- Sales invoices and bills — create drafts, edit, approve, or void when you confirm.
- Who owes us and what we owe — open invoices, aged receivables and payables.
- Customers and suppliers — find, create, update and archive contacts.
- Record payments against invoices and bills.
- Bank transactions (read-only) and the chart of accounts.
- Reports: profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables, aged payables, and bank summary.
- Plain-words automations, for example: “whenever a new invoice is created in Xero, tell me here”.
How to connect
Each teammate connects their own Xero login. Nothing is shared between people.
- Mention @Kipwise in Slack with a Xero request (in a channel or DM).
- Click the private Connect button the agent shows only to you.
- On Xero’s consent screen, pick the organisation and approve access.
- Done — ask again and the agent uses that connection.
What we access
In plain words, Kipwise Agent asks Xero for:
- Contacts (customers and suppliers)
- Invoices and bills
- Payments
- Bank transactions — read-only
- Organisation settings — read-only (including the chart of accounts)
- Five reports: profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables, aged payables, bank summary
No email sending. Nothing is stored beyond the connection token, which is encrypted.
Security
- Per-person OAuth — every action runs as the teammate who connected.
- Tokens encrypted at rest.
- Invoices created as drafts unless you say to approve.
- Void, delete and archive only on explicit confirmation.
- Webhook deliveries verified with Xero’s signature.
