What it does
Kipwise Agent is a Slack app. Intercom is connected per person, from inside Slack, so the agent only ever does what you could do yourself in Intercom.
- Search and read conversations in your Intercom inbox.
- Read tickets.
- Look up contacts by email.
- Search and read published Help Center articles.
- Leave internal notes on a conversation — the safe, always-available default.
- Send a customer-visible reply, but only for the people the workspace owner allow-lists, and only on an explicit request naming that reply.
Every action runs under the connecting admin’s own Intercom permissions — the agent can never see or do more than you could yourself in Intercom. Every conversation, ticket or article in a reply is shown by name and linked to the real record in Intercom, never as a raw id.
How to connect
- Mention
@kipwise_v1 in Slack with an Intercom request, for example @kipwise_v1 what’s the latest on the Acme refund conversation?
- Click “Connect Intercom” in the agent’s ephemeral prompt.
- Approve on Intercom’s consent screen. If you land on the sign-in page first, choose your workspace’s region (US, EU or AU) there.
- Ask again. The agent finishes your original request straight away. Teammates connect their own Intercom login the same way; nobody shares a token.
What we access
- Read conversations — to search and read the inbox.
- Write conversations — to leave internal notes, and to send a customer-visible reply when you’re allow-listed and ask for one explicitly.
- Read and list articles — to search and read the Help Center.
- Read contacts — to look up who a conversation or ticket belongs to.
- Read tickets — to read ticket detail.
- Read admins — to identify you as the sender of a reply.
Security
- Intercom access is OAuth, connected per person — nobody shares a token.
- The access token is encrypted at rest and used only while answering your request.
- Disconnect any time by uninstalling the app in Intercom (Settings → Integrations), or by asking the bot to disconnect Intercom.
