Google Drive and Sheets + Kipwise Agent
Find and read files, add rows to a Google Sheet, and post in Slack when a row is added, as you. Every change waits for your approval, and sharing never leaves your company.
Ask in Slack, find it in Drive
Kipwise Agent is an AI teammate that finds the file, reads it and, when you ask, changes it. It works as each person, through their own Google connection, in Slack and Microsoft Teams. Every change shows an Approve card first.
- Search your Drive and list a folder.
- Read Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text files, and meeting transcripts.
- Upload a file: text, or a picture, PDF or other file you posted in the thread, or one it fetches from a public https link.
- Create a folder, rename or replace a text file, or move a file.
- Move a file to the Trash. You can restore it there, and the agent never deletes for good.
- Share a file or folder with a colleague or your whole company, make a link that works for people at your company, or change or take away someone’s access.
Google Sheets in Slack
- List your spreadsheets.
- Read a range.
- Add rows and update cells.
- Create a new spreadsheet.
Ask in your own words
- “Find the Q3 budget in Drive and tell me the total.”
- “Put this PDF in the Contracts folder.”
- “Share the launch plan with the whole company.”
- “Add a row to the Leads sheet: Acme, Priya Nair, 12 Nov.”
- “Read A1 to D20 of the Hiring tracker.”
Post in Slack when a Google Sheet changes
Ask once, in a sentence: “when a new row is added to the Leads sheet, post it in #sales.” You approve it once, and later rows are posted where you asked. It can start when:
- a new row is added
- a row is changed
Give the sheet’s link or its exact name. The first row is read as the column names. The agent hears about an edit between a few seconds and about a minute and a half after it happens, because that is how long Google takes to say so. A deleted row starts nothing, and a sheet with more than 2,000 rows cannot be followed.
Where it can reach
Drive and Sheets reach files owned in your own Google Workspace domain, and only files your Google account can open. A personal Gmail account reaches its own files.
Sharing never leaves your company. The agent shares with colleagues or your whole domain, never with outside people, and it never makes a public link. For that, use Drive’s own Share button.
Google’s own AI or the agent in Slack
Google’s own AI is Gemini in Google Workspace, which works inside Google’s apps and depends on your Workspace plan.
Kipwise Agent works from Slack and uses your own Google account. It works across your other connected tools in the same conversation, and it waits for an Approve card before it changes a file or a sheet.
Set up in 2 steps
- Mention @Kipwise in Slack and ask about a file or a sheet.
- Press Connect and sign in with your Google account. Changing files is a separate connection from reading them, asked only when you first ask for a change. Connecting Drive does not give the agent Gmail or Calendar.
FAQs
Access, approvals and pricing for the Google Drive and Sheets connection.
Does it act as me in Google Drive and Sheets?
Yes. Each person connects their own Google account from Slack or Teams by pressing Connect, and Kipwise Agent works as that person. It only reaches files your Google account can open.
Which files can it reach?
Files owned in your own Google Workspace domain. A personal Gmail account reaches its own files.
What can it change, and how does approval work?
It can upload a file, create a folder, rename or replace a text file, move a file, move a file to the Trash, share a file or folder inside your company, change or take away someone’s access, and in a Google Sheet add rows, update cells or create a spreadsheet. Every change shows an Approve card first, and nothing happens until the person who asked presses Approve. A file in the Trash can be restored there, and the agent never deletes for good.
Can it share a file with someone outside my company?
No. It shares only with colleagues or your whole company domain, and it makes only links that work for people at your company. It never makes a public link. For anything else, use Drive’s own Share button.
Can it post in Slack when a row is added to a Google Sheet?
Yes. Ask for it in a sentence, such as “when a new row is added to the Leads sheet, post it in #sales.” It can also start when a row is changed. The agent hears about an edit between a few seconds and about a minute and a half after it happens, because that is how long Google takes to say so.
Does connecting Drive also connect Gmail or Calendar?
No. Each Google service is its own connection, and changing files is a separate connection from reading them, so people who only search Drive are never asked for it.
How do I disconnect Google Drive?
Ask the agent in Slack: “disconnect my Google Drive.” It deletes the access it stored. Google can only revoke access for all your Google services together, so while another Google service stays connected, Google keeps the grant until you disconnect the last one.
What does it cost?
Kipwise has one plan, the Kipwise Agent: $10 per user a month, or $108 per user a year (USD, excluding tax), for at least 3 users. It includes $5 of AI credit per person and $2 per person of shared team credit every month. Installing it also puts your team on Premium, with the knowledge base’s Premium features, the support desk, the request desk and Tasks, at no extra price while the agent is on trial or paid.
