Box + Kipwise Agent

How it works

Kipwise Agent is a Slack app. Box is connected per person from inside Slack, so the agent only ever does what you could do yourself in Box.

1. Install Kipwise Agent in Slack from kipwise.com/auth/agent/install.
2. Mention the agent and ask for anything in Box in any Slack channel or DM.
3. Click “Connect Box” in the agent’s reply and approve the connection on Box.

Arriving from the Box Integrations directory?

When you click Add on Box and approve the connection, Box shows a one-time claim code. Finish setup by typing claim <code> to the agent in Slack. The code works once and expires after 15 minutes.

What you can ask

• Search Box and open or quote a file: “find the latest Acme proposal and summarise it”
• Upload a new text file or update an existing file.
• Move a file you name explicitly to the Box trash, then restore it when needed.

Every action is performed as you, under your own Box permissions.

Permissions and data

• Kipwise Agent requests Box’s root_readwrite scope: permission to see and work with the files and folders you can access in your Box account, so it can search, read, upload, update, trash and restore files you ask it to handle.
• Access tokens are stored encrypted and used only while answering your request. Box enforces your own user permissions on every call.
• Disconnect any time in Box Account Settings → Security → Apps, or ask the agent to disconnect Box for you.
