HR help desk in Slack

An HR help desk your team asks in Slack

Employees ask where they already are. Kipwise Agent answers from your handbook pages with the source, or files an HR request after a plain “Send this request?”. Confidential requests never appear in a channel.

7-day trial on install. No card needed.

Sample data

How it works

Answer first, request second, a person decides.

Ask

Answers from your handbook

It searches and reads your pages as the person asking, so it only uses pages they may open, and answers with the page it used.

Request

Confirm in plain words

When there is no answer, or the person asks for one, the agent asks “Send this request?” and files it with a number. The requester keeps the request card in their own chat.

Decide

A person approves

A request can need an approver’s yes first. The approver gets a private card with Approve and Reject, and the first press decides.

Answers

The handbook answers, with its source

Time off, expenses, equipment, onboarding. The answer comes from your own pages, with a link to the page it used.

When a rule changes, say so in the thread and the agent updates the page, after an Approve card, with your name on the edit.

Sample data

Privacy

The channel sees a neutral line

In a channel only “Request #57 was sent” appears, never the title or the details. A confidential request type never appears in a channel at all; its alerts go as private messages.

Sample data

Approvals

A private card for the approver

“Ana Silva asked for your approval.” The approver decides in their own chat with the agent, and the requester sees the outcome under their request card.

When a request is about to miss its deadline, the team sees one line in its thread.

What HR and operations teams say about their tools

  1. “…there is feature sprawl in the platform which makes it hard to navigate”

    Capterra, March 2026

With KipwiseNothing to navigate. Employees ask in a thread or a direct chat, and HR works the requests from one triage channel.

  2. “Now they jacked prices to pay for a “curated” AI chatbot that can’t do anything useful to reduce repetitive tasks”

    Reddit r/humanresources, June 2026

With KipwiseThe agent can act as well as answer. Every change, such as a page edit or a request, waits for an Approve card.

What is in the desk

Five ways in
A direct message, the New request shortcut, the Create request message shortcut, the ticket emoji, or a channel mapped to a request type.
Request types
HR, IT and ops request types, queues and deadlines. We set them up with you on a 20-minute call.
Numbers
Ask “how many requests this week, and how are we doing on deadlines?” and it sends you the figures privately.
Ratings
When a request is marked done, the person gets a 1 to 5 rating card in their own chat.

What to ask it first

  • @Kipwise how many vacation days do I get?

It answers from your Time off policy page and shows the page it used.

  • @Kipwise I need to change my address on file

It asks “Send this request?”, then files it with a number.

  • @Kipwise what are my requests?

It lists your requests with their state.

  • @Kipwise write the 5-day carry-over into the time off policy

It edits the page after an Approve card, with your name on the edit.

Questions

Does it connect to our HR system?

No. It answers from your Kipwise pages and files requests with your team. It does not hold leave balances, payroll or benefits.

Who sees an HR request?

The person who asked, and the team that handles it. In a channel only a neutral “Request was sent” line appears, and a confidential type never appears in a channel.

Does it answer without a person?

With “AI answers in internal requests” turned on, it tries your team’s pages first and sends the answer privately, with the pages it used. “That helped” ends it there. When nothing answers, the request is filed at once.

How do we set up request types?

We set them up with you on a 20-minute call, then you ask the agent to change the settings you control, such as the triage channel.

Does it work in Microsoft Teams?

Yes, in the personal chat with the agent and by mentioning it in a channel. Some Slack extras, such as the shortcuts and the emoji, are not in Teams.

What does it cost?

$10 per user a month, for at least 3 users. That includes $5 of AI credit per person and $2 per person of shared team credit every month. Add it to Slack and the free trial starts on your first message, no card needed.

Can it change things without asking?

No. Before it edits a page, updates a record or posts a message, it shows an Approve or Deny card in the thread. Only the person who asked can approve it, and the card expires after 30 minutes. A denied or expired card runs nothing.

Who can see what?

The agent works as the person asking. It opens only the pages, files and records that person can open, in Kipwise and in every tool they connect.
